Floppy debuted sometime in 2004 as a collaboration between Hiromu Toda of Shinjuku Gewalt and Kobayashi Sharaku of Metronome. Occasionally, they are supported by Metronome guitarist Fukusuke. Their music is referred to as "Asian Chip-Pop", an electronic genre heavily influenced by midi and game music. The sound is infectious and fun, with lots of bleeps and blips.
As of 2007, Floppy has released three singles (FLOPPY no suteki, Chip Trick/Bike, and a live-only maxi-single featuring three cover songs), and two albums (FLOPPY and Sine Wave Orchestra).
